We are looking for Head Supply Chain & Production Operations
Job Purpose:
- This position will lead and direct whole supply chain management of company including, but not limited to production planning, Procurement, Leather sourcing, raw material store inventory, production operations, finished good warehousing, and logistics.
- This position will provide leadership and direction on a cross functional basis
Key Accountabilities:
- Responsible to develop Standard Operating Procedures of whole Supply Chain inclusive Procurement, Raw Material Inventory, Production, Finished Good Warehouse, Maintenance and Logistics.
- Perform capacity building (Training) activities for supply chain staff regarding SOPs so that staff can implement them in a formal way.
- Direct the activities of all functions involved in the purchasing, raw material store, production operations, warehousing, and logistics to ensure on time production and delivery of every order to customer(s).
- Responsible to perform accurate production planning at the highest level of performance so that all other supply chain operations run smoothly according to plan without any risk.
- Do weekly meeting with Director Operations for getting approval on weekly production planning.
- Responsible to ensure on time raw material procurement in defined budget and as per quality standards.
- Establish and always ensure a compliance with vendor selection criteria and responsible for updated vendors lists after proper research in finding new vendors.
- Develop good personal relationship with major suppliers to reduce supplier bargaining and enhancing friendly environment with supplier.
- Do daily meeting with procurement In-charge for getting updates and for giving directions on daily procurement activities.
- Ensure timely and quality import material for further production process.
- Establish and always ensure a compliance with vendor selection criteria and responsible for updated vendors lists after proper research in finding new vendors.
- Perform regular meetings with Team Lead Procurement for smooth import operations.
- Responsible to ensure on time leather selection and treatment (Processing) by the Karachi Office in defined budget, timelines and as per quality standards.
- Develop good personal relationship with major suppliers to reduce supplier bargaining and enhancing friendly environment with supplier.
- Do daily discussion with each of the 2 in-charges in Karachi office for getting updates and for giving directions on daily work activities.
- Ensure minimum inventory in raw material stores by daily checking the reports of raw material inventories and take immediate actions if inventory become low to fulfill the needs of any production order.
- Ensure proper placing and stacking of raw material in all stores.
- Do daily meeting with Inventory In-charges for getting updates and for giving directions on daily inventory activities.
- Daily checking the report of production about production orders completion stages as per plan, and take immediate actions if there any delays in orders. Daily Meeting with Team Lead Production to take an overview of performance for his divisions.
- Daily checking the reports related to production & quality divisions and in case of any bottle neck, call Team Lead Production and direct him for further actions to immediately resolve the issues.
- Stay updated on best production / machine technologies and give recommendations for improvement to top management.
- Ensure proper placing of finished goods in warehouse and remain updated that warehouse received the exact quantity of finished good as per the production order quantity.
- Responsible to guarantee smooth operations of finished goods logistics
- Highly responsible for whole supply chain team coordination so that no delays, confusion and internal organizational politics occur.
- Responsible to reduce or eliminate employees blame game in supply chain division so that organization achieves its goals in a successful manner.
- Develop and manage yearly departmental budgets and ensure a proper compliance with it
- Do performance evaluation and conduct quarterly meetings for performance feedback of the direct reportees. As well as conduct time to time performance monitoring sessions (as & when required)
- Ensure Proper Training & Development of the Staff wherever & whenever needed through performance appraisal.
- Developing department staff through formal and informal coaching, counseling & mentoring sessions.
- Succession Planning: Develop a successor of himself as well as successors of his immediate subordinates.
- Coordinate with HR department, whenever Manpower Planning revision is required in any of supply chain divisions or departmental organogram needs any change.
- Do final (technical) selection interview of staff needed to be hired in supply chain division.
- Any other task directly related to Supply Chain Management.
