Rupafil Limited was incorporated in 1992 as a public limited company. Rupali Group became the undisputed leader of Pakistan's synthetic industry with the installation of large filament yarn and polymer manufacturing facility at Sheikhupura – Sharaqpur Road, in Punjab Province.

Project was installed with investment of Rs.2,500 million and project was co-financed by the International Finance Corporation "IFC" & Commonwealth Development Corporation "CDC". Yarn making unit of Rupafil is in operation since May 1993 and Chips making unit was commissioned in August 1996.

Annual Yarn manufacturing capacity of the plant is 9,800 M. Tons and Chips manufacturing capacity is 35,000 M. Tons per annum.

Company paid off all long-term liabilities of financial institutions including IFC & CDC in time and without any extension or rescheduling.
