Quick ways to improve your productivity at work

We all have our lows and highs, sometimes we don’t feel like doing our best but that’s totally alright. Our minds again need an instant boost to grill its creativity.

Here are some quick ways to upturn your productivity at work:

 Have a cup of coffee/tea

Caffeine acts as a central nervous system stimulant. When it reaches your brain, the most noticeable effect is alertness. You’ll feel more awake and less tired. Coffee and tea have the right amount of caffeine. All you have to do is to grab a cup of coffee or tea before starting your work or when you feel like your mind is not in its best form to work.

Stress relief toys for work

Some people have basketball court, ping pong tables, and video games at the office but if you’re not lucky enough to have these game spaces at your workplace you can have stress relief toys at your work station they help to relieve tension and stress.

Positive Workplace Culture

Positive culture at work-place has a vital role in increasing employee’s productivity. Negativity not only affect your mood but it also brings down your energy which results in less productivity and low performance at work.

Divide your work into smaller tasks

One big task always seems so arduous and laborious. You start getting tired before you even commence the task. When you break one big pile of work into smaller tasks, it somehow sounds easy and manageable.

Take small breaks

Don’t over-burden yourself. When you feel that you’re getting tired mentally or physically, take a break. Just like our bodies, our brains get tired too, so we sometimes have to give it a break to work creatively. Taking scheduled breaks actually helps to improve concentration.

Keep your workstation aesthetically pleasing

Have something that pleases you, close to your workspace. Some research shows outfitting an office with aesthetically pleasing elements like plants can increase productivity by up to 15 percent. Enliven your workspace with flowers, some of your favorite pictures and some pieces of motivational quotes or anything that makes you feel good

Minimize interferences

Avoid small interruptions while doing work. Put your social media notifications on hold and avoid unnecessary conversations with your colleagues. These interruptions change your work pattern, and affect the deadlines you have to meet. So make sure you keep your door closed while working, if you have a separate cabin/room or politely excuse to someone who’s trying to engage you in conversations.

Work smarter not harder

Sometimes when our work is taking too long to get finished, it’s just because we are doing it in a wrong way. Hard work does not always have to take a lot of time.  Psychologists have found attempting to do several tasks at once can result in lost time and productivity. Instead, make your habit of staying committed to a single task before moving on to next project
